Job description

n! biomachines, based in Burlington, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.


Responsibilities

  • Use SMAW, GMAW/FCAW, GTAW welding to weld pressure vessel components, pipe fittings and nozzles (set-in welding)
  • Read and interpret drawings and perform welding tasks accordingly
  • Operate metal removing and joining tools and machines and other supporting equipment often using mathematical calculations
  • Structural and assembly with hand tools
  • use horizontal band saws grinders, operate overhead cranes
  • Ensure work area set up is suitable for various welding projects
  • Actively participate in safety of your workspace and coworkers

Job requirements

  • Minimum three-years of experience in fit up and welding of pressure vessel and set-in welding of nozzle on pressure vessel or pressure pipe under strict QA program (e.g., ASME or TSSA certificate holder)
  • Must currently hold a CWB welding tickets, or able to attain, for stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum in the SMAW, GMAW/FCAW, GTAW welding processes, multiple positions.
  • Experience in laser welding an asset
  • Current ASME certification preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret Engineering/Shop drawings, sketches, and AWS welding symbols.
  • Ability to work from Manufacturing routings (work orders) or verbal instructions
  • Good understanding of distortion control and ability to weld to a tolerance range from 1/8" to 1.010" where required by drawing
  • Experience working with material including Stainless (316L),Aluminum, and Steel to CSA, W47.1, W47.2, W59.1, W59.2
  • Understanding of ABS and Lloyds welding code an asset
  • Experience in pipe welding with rotators and rollers
  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings and follow weld procedures
