n! biomachines (formerly The Cultivated B Canada) is a highly innovative and science-driven biotechnology and bioengineering company from Germany, focusing on developing and manufacturing high-precision systems for cellular agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.


Our facility in Burlington, ON, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors, photobioreactors and advanced machineries for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated R&D center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and comprehend specifications to determine design requirements
  • Coordinate and perform design work to fulfill project requirements and achieve target dates
  • Perform solid modeling of parts and equipment assemblies and use these to create detailed fabrication drawings of pressure vessels
  • Review and understand applicable ASME codes
  • Contribute and assist with new product development
  • Selecting appropriate materials for components
  • Support other team members in the design review of vessels and projects
  • Submit application packages for design registration
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships
  • Create procedures to assist in departmental efficiency


Job requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering Tech., or related field
  • 3 years' experience in a design role
  • Experience with design and conceptualization of pressure vessels preferred
  • Experience working in a rapidly scaling industrial manufacturing or biotechnology environment
  • Demonstrated experience with stainless steel vessels for food processing, bioreactors, fermenters, etc., an asset
  • Ability to work cohesively with engineering team and manager.
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Must be capable of working independently and maintain schedule of assigned tasks
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities on an ongoing basis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
  • Ability to self-learn.
