Job description
n! biomachines (formerly The Cultivated B Canada based in Burlington is focused on the development and production of bioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.
We are a subsidiary of The Cultivated B. GmbH in Germany which is focused on scalable alternative protein production and cellular agriculture technologies.
Duties
- Liaise with senior management in order to determine organizational strategy and initiatives
- Consult with and present to senior management on business trends in order to develop new services, products, and distribution channels
- Ensure cross functional development of company(s) growth path and story (in alignment with management, finance, and legal functions)
- Produce scenario based business case calculations for the global group of companies
- Regularly analyze and calculate existing and future business and growth plans
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative market, stakeholder and competitor analysis including but not limited to balance sheet and Profit & Loss analysis
- Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
- Conduct scenario-based go-to-market & market entry analysis
- Prepare management reporting and reporting for board meetings including ad hoc reporting to the CxOs and investor reports
- Calculate and forecast financial top and bottom line KPIs (revenue, GMV, GP, EBIT/EBITDA, etc.)
- International collaboration with German Headquarters (within different time zones)
Job requirements
- BA/Master’s in economics/business, marketing, mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant job experience with a proven understanding of the industry and area of service
- Working experience in engineering, biotechnology, or food industry an asset
- Proven track record in business case modelling and financial forecasting
- Knowledge of relevant data sources, vendors, and tools for business analysis (Pitchbook, Vertical IQ, Gardner, Bloomberg, Reuters, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, etc)
- A self-starter with excellent organizational, strategic, planning, and implementation skills
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, and facts
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Ability to respond appropriately in high-pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor
- Ability to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
